Hold Up Stockings

Black or opaque hold up stockings are one of the most popular hold ups due to their versatility for a broad range of outfit choices and comfortability for wear all day long. Hold up stockings, introduced in 1967, meant that hosiery wearers could avoid the need for suspender belts, clips and straps whilst still enjoying leg coverage. With a very similar design to stockings, hold ups differ in how they stay up - stockings use a garter belt to keep them in place, whereas hold ups use silicone strips inside the top cuff. This gives the sensual look of stockings without the need for a suspender belt. Opaque hold ups also ideal if you like the coverage of tights but do not enjoy the closed in brief or gusset of pantyhose, particularly in warmer weather to cover imperfections or blemishes.
